Good old Jaddu has done it again, and this time, it hurt.

Ravindra Jadeja pulled off something spectacular last night to down the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and gain victory for the Chennai Super Kings. With his dazzling all-round performance, Ravi helped the Super Kings to defend a minute total of 140.

Batting first, Chennai didn’t perform too well despite a glistening 50 (28) from Dan Smith and a stunning last undefeated innings of 36 by Jadeja. With Dan and Ravi saving the day, Chennai need to fix the problem with their middle order as they produced a measly amount of runs.

With 140 on the cards, Rajasthan went out looking pretty optimistic, but so did Chennai. Whoever did the basics right, would win.

The tale of Rajasthan’s batting was one marginally heterogeneous to the one of Chennai, as the Royals’ runs were scattered and no one reached a score higher than 28. They needed a rock, an anchor to score a solid 40-50, then scatter the other runs around.

It wasn’t all their fault though, as mastermind Ravi Jadeja proved his worth with the ball too, and took a nice bag of four wickets. Jadeja’s match-winning efforts were awarded, as he was given the title of man of the match.

Some would argue that Rajasthan threw the match away, but then others would argue that Jadeja defeated them and there was nothing they could do. Either way, Chennai won and there is no point arguing over that fact because if you do your picture will be painted as a fool.

This was a good outing for Chennai, but they still need to work on their batting, because cricket is not an individual game, you have a team, not a group of 11 individuals. They won’t get a hero every match. But for Rajasthan, they just need to work on everything!
