Glenn Maxwell was performing in a vehement manner last night, to extinguish the ‘fire’ set by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. ‘The Big Show’ scored even more runs (last game he scored 95), to take down Rajasthan and win it for Punjab, with 10 balls to spare.
Punjab were found to be combustible by Rajasthan’s ‘fire’ and were in tatters at 2-10 off nearly 3 overs. Enter Glenn Maxwell, the superhero at number 4, who comes in and extinguishes the ‘fire’, by smashing 89 off a minute 45 deliveries. This spectacular innings consisted off 8 thumping boundaries, and six maximums that literally take your breath away.
His fire partner for the day was South African David Miller, who was no slouch with the bat either. He notched up a masterful 51 not out of 19 deliveries, to give Punjab another win via another massive chase, both of which Glenn Maxwell has proven his stardom in. With these two, Punjab created their own fire, and boy did it hurt Rajasthan.
For obvious reasons Glenn Maxwell was named man of the match, and hopefully we will see this on a regular basis!
