I have just returned from an awe-filled holiday, down in the Snowy Mountains, which is about 5-6 hours South of Sydney. There has been a lot happening in the IPL, so here is a report after 2-days of cricket.

On Friday night was a thrilling double-header, with Chennai and Punjab playing in the afternoon, followed by Hyderabad and Rajasthan later on in the night at Abu Dhabi.

In the afternoon, Chennai were gutted by the devastating and ruinous effect Glenn Maxwell embedded into their emotions. Even after they posted 205.

Glenn Maxwell came out for Punjab, all guns blazing, and smashed 95 off a measly 43 deliveries. With 15 fours and 2 maximums, Maxwell was unstoppable.

In the next match, Rajasthan just scraped in for a win against Hyderabad, after Ahjinkya Rahane and Stuart Binny both managed scores around 50. Although, they were the only two batsmen in Rajasthan’s line-up to reach double figures.

Also, last night saw Dehli upset Kolkata due to some more runs coming from the magic bat of the exalted Protea JP Duminy. And finally, the Royal Challengers Bangalore cashed in for another victory, albeit Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh both disappointed their fans, with ducks.

This just proves that in cricket you should never get too cocky, no matter how well your season is going. Back to the nets boys…
